Scariff emerged deserving winners of this hard fought junior A tie at Ballyline on Sunday June 29th. Scariff received a tonic start when full forward Tom McMahon goaled after just two minutes. While Derek Murphy added a point, Crusheen came back strongly with three first half points to reduce Scariff's advantage to the minimum. Just before the break, Martin Hartigan pointed to give Scariff a two point half time advantage 1-02 to 0-03.
In the first fifteen minutes after the resumption, points from Scariff's Mark McKenna (2 from frees), Robbie Madden and Jason Horan met with like scores from the home side. Scariff, however, upped the tempo in the final quarter and points from Jason Horan (free) and 2 from Robbie Madden saw Scariff edge ahead. The decisive score came five minutes from the end when John Bugler blocked down an attempted clearance and stroked the ball into the back of the Crusheen net.
